Corned Beef Sinigang

Comments (1) |

When someone mentions Sentro 1771, I think of Corned Beef Sinigang. They popularized the dish as far as I'm concerned haha! If you're tired of pork in your usual Sinigang, then you have to try this. Not to mention its easy, quick to prepare and beef cuts are expensive. I've tried different brands of corned beef; in can, regular, chunky, with chili or garlic but I always go back to Palm. You can find it in most supermarkets and it’s cheap considering that it’s imported.

Ingredients:(makes 2-3 servings)
4 cups water
2 medium sized tomatoes and
1 big onion, cut into quarters
1 1L pack Knorr Sinigang Mix
green sili
1 medium sized labanos (radish)
sitaw (string beans)
kangkong (water spinach)
1 big can PALM chili corned beef or regular (if you don't like it spicy)

Procedure:
In a casserole, combine water, tomatoes and onion and bring to a boil until tomatoes softened. You might want to try squeezing the tomatoes using the back of your cooking spoon to bring out the juices.
Add Knorr Sinigang Mix, green sili, labanos and sitaw. Simmer quickly then add Palm Chili corned beef. Make sure the meat stays chunky so don't stir too much.
Lastly, add kangkong and simmer until vegetables are almost done. Add salt if desired.
